Volt gauge repair

I know this has been asked before on here but can't find it with my phone. How do you fix the volt gauge on a m1009. Mine has not worked for a long time. I replaced the gauge way back but it still did not work.

Is the voltmeter relay working? Is there power to the 24v+ wire that connects to the gauge?

We're is the relay located.

Right under the dash where a stock truck would have the radio. Lower right knee area. Drivers side.

When mine failed, it was the resistor on the back. Had someone mail me one, fixed.

All fuses are listed in the CUCV Helpful Threads sticky. The 24v fuse is the one on the very bottom. And the relay is on the bracket that the starter relay is mounted to. That is also listed in the Helpful Threads sticky under Relays, Diodes, etc....

Um, no. The relay is controlled by 12v, and just provides the ground connection for the voltmeter, not the positive. I don't know why they did it that way, but it is what it is.

Is there anything on trouble shooting the volt gauge in post other than in the manual. I don't have access to a computer right know to use my service manual I have on cd.
