I've searched and read and read maybe I'm missing it.aua

Can someone tell me how to test the voltage at or leaving the generator ,
then leaving (or at) the regulator?
Just not sure where to place the probes. Don't have the military test kit I'm using a standard digital volt meter.
Also should either be low- how do I adjust? let me re-word that -I know how to adjust the Gen.from what I read, but i've read the regulator can be adjusted also.

Thanks for reply 70Duece.
I will try that.
but that method generates another question:
When I removed the positive terminal at the battery(s)
the truck shut down.
So if I remove the output cannon plug to test wont this essentially
cause a shutdown also?
or can I just probe one of the wires?
also you mentioned put the negative probe on the box
I'm guessing one of the ground straps would be ok?

To measure a voltage, you don't need to disconnect anything. There is a voltage drop across the regulator of perhaps 2 volts (internal SCR) and you need to have the battery connected.
For access to all check points, remove the cover of the regulator.
