Hello
Anyone know best way to connect n type connector from a vsq antenna base to an am/fm connector?

So far I can only find n type to bnc and then bnc to am/fm

Anyone have any ideas that may be better?
Here is the antenna base which I want to connect to am/fm cable

That antenna is designed for 420 to 450 MHz, 50 ohm impedance. Broadcast band AM-FM wavelengths are much longer by magnitudes and normally 100 ohms impedance in automobiles. So, while a cool antenna for the range it was designed for, it will not be very effective for the broadcast bands of 540 KHz on the low end (AM) to the high end of 108 MHz (FM).

Nothing to stop you from trying... so here's the easiest combinations to mate your antenna to a coax cable. Picture one, Female "N" to cable and picture two, female to female "barrel" and male "N" to cable.

These type of connections and connectors are precision impedance and dimensional by designed. Mil-spec. can be a bit pricey for a car radio. Ham operators may have some floating around in the junk box.

In general, frequency, coax impedance and mechanical considerations... this is a mismatch of all things radio.

GOOD LUCK, CAMO

These 3 items will allow you to go from the VSQ antenna to your car radio and all you'll have to do is plug them together. It couldn't be much easier than that. These are general links to what you need and none of it is mine or being sold by anyone I know just to adhere to the board rules.

N to BNC adapters:

BNC to auto antenna plug: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BNC-male-t...=item3ae6ccaddf:g:sMwAAOSws65ToUok:rk:19:pf:0
BNC to BNC Coupler: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_od...coupler.TRS0&_nkw=bnc+to+bnc+coupler&_sacat=0

With this combination you'll be all set.
