Want a Bonnet(Hood) Name for My Whistling Deuce???

Hi, im wondering if you guys had any good Bonnet (Hood) names i could put on the front of my Deuce??
as i feel its Lacking one lol..

American trucks do Not wear bonnets! Our trucks are tough! Only vehicles from the UK wear Bonnets and probably Nickers too. I asked my cousin about that the other day since he was in Nam late 69 to early 71 and he does not remember vehicles being named unless they were armored. He also told me he tries to forget as much about that place as he posibly can, and thanked me for reminding him.

Unfortunately, Ducer makes a valid point.... most Americans can't spell! ..... or name vehicle parts properly....!!! JUST KIDDING

Over the past.... hmmmmmm 'lots of years', I have had to translate a lot, other wise you tend to 'upset the natives'. Trouble is, in doing so (UK words / spelling) the humoUr/ridicule/'Mickey taking' gets in the way of answering your original question.

Back to subject .... gun trucks were named, some wreckers but mostly only armoUr.

Just to put a little perspective on things for the Yankee brethren, in the UK, there has always been a trend for vehicles to be "blinged" up for individualites sake. Militarilly speaking - not curb feelers, ground effect lights or chrome girlies. There are just too many jeeps, LR's, smaller trucks etc., so they all tend to look alike to the untrained eye - hence the "apparent need" to make ones truck stand out by adding fifteen aerials, welders, more guns than a pinkie, more bumper rope than the QEII, cake tins, Jerry cans galore and Disney characters etc..

PLEASE tell me that you all know this is 'messing' and not a dig!

The other trend is for Jay Leno class restoration paint jobs - absolutely perfect stencilling all of which is way better than in field motor pool touch ups or even original as new from the factory. No over spray, LASER straight numbering etc., etc.

You will find a name soon enough - like a new pet, it will just pop into your head one day as an obvious choise, best preceeded by a skin full of Theakies OP or Ridleys Dark n Nasty.

If you just want a name, how about "Whistling Dixie?" It is a whistling deuce and Dixie refers to the southern part of the USA. Maybe paint an image of a confederate cavalryman charging on horseback with his sabre drawn. I think this would tie it together.

You Lot do give me a smile,well i only asked about a name as ive seen a few around,but didnt no they were on wreckers only,so makes me feel alot better.But just a personal touch that was all,But i like the name Whistling Dixie!!!Or did think about The Memphis Whistler!!Theres proberbly some reason for not having that with you guys lol..
But getting back to Bonnets,Unfortunately thats the True English word for your Hoods over there,But our Hoods over here are on the back of jackets to cover ya head when its raining lol.
Or a Bonnet you put on a baby which is another hat you tie under the chin.God sounds like im trying to teach you True English lol..But Hey we no what were all talking about,lucky i watch enough american films.Get to pick up the Lingo over the years..

Was thinking about the whistler thing - all I came up with was Woolfie (as in wolf whistle) though remembering Woolfie Smith "Power to the people"... Or something like Val - could be thought of as a woman in your life but actually refering to Val Doonican(sp?), then you could play with the pied piper thing maybe!!

This was just a feeble attempt at razzing. I hope no one was offended by me. I have never had the opportunity to needle anyone from the UK for their spelling or wording and felt I needed to take the shot provided me. I for one like the turn this thread has taken.

At least I can spell TIRES! Which by the way is the correct spelling. or if you are from the south like my dad, it's tars. Tyres is actualy a slang spelling that originated around the turn of the century popular only in the UK and it's colonies. There are many words you chaps can't spell correctly take for instance your word colour the correct spelling is color. It seems when you chaps misspell a word you just say oh that extra letter is just silent or something silly like that. By the way Lorry is a girls name not a truck! The only exception would be if she was built like one.
Crap I did not mean to say that outloud. How do you even know I can count to 100 or for that matter even write?
