What I do not know about this subject will fill volumns and volumns.
What I do know is I HAVE to get A/C if I am to keep driving this
thing in the summer. All these hoops are a lot to do.

What is wrong with something like this on the roof running off
a compressor on the Cummins?

I agree... if coins are no object... Well if coins were no object, I would not be dealing with a 20+ year old mil surplus truck... and I think those bring A/c from the factory... -:)

UOTE=FireFighterHill;1331451]Problem with those is the price. In some cases you will end up paying more for the a/c then you paid for the truck. If money werent a concern id have a heavy duty red dot unit on mine.[/QUOTE]

I have a RFQ sent, I await a reply.

A decent kit would be a great seller for an enterprising retailer.

While I am at it, is the a specific NHC250 bracket that will work
w/ the OE power steering pupmp? If so do you have a part number?

I wish but I have yet to find any that are available.

There is a kit on eBay with the 939 nhc250 for 500 bucks it is a good deal for the kit you would be hard pressed to buy a retrofit for a civillian car for that price. He wants 350 or 500 bin plus 175 shipping I gave him 500 for the kit shipped it arrived in good shape

I haven't found a kit yet for the 900 series NHC-250 that doesn't require you to provide your own compressor bracket. If someone knows of a air conditioning compressor bracket that will fit please share.

I do believe it will work if you do not have a power steering pump FFHill. (sigh)
I have seen that web page too.

The bracket Reddot made for the M939A0-A1 is designed to use the power steering pumps
belts (extended) . You just bolt on this bracket and change power steering
belts. There is another part needed and part of the bracket called
a TIGHTENER, part 39. In my picture.

Look, I found all the info regarding the OE M934 parts yesterday guys ...

I have had extended discussions w/ two men at RedDot.

RedDot has plans and part numbers for every last part for the M934's
system. I have seen it, but they REFUSE to sell us the bracket. They can't!
PERIOD. They are bound by the terms and conditions of the DOD.

Our only hope is each of us make our own bracket OR, if someone
who owns an M934 w/ this system, if they would pull the bracket
and send it to someone like me who will reverse engineer it and
put it to paper via CAD so it can be reproduced. That would be the
easiest way to do it by far. If they would trust just me to send it back,
(My ebay feedback is over 1000 and 100% and all my info is public) If they
mailed it to me I CAN draw it in CAD so it were reproducable.
Heck they could make money doing this too!

BUT, the bracket is only good for THEIR compressor. If whoever owns
this M934 could give us the OE part number from the manufacturer
we can see if that compressor that fits that bracket is available
to us, again, Reddot will not sell it to us.

I have all Reddots part numbers. It will do no good to post them.
Alls it will do is cause 1000's of guys to call RD over the years reading this thread
and cause them grief w/ guys looking for it. Not gonna do it.

I sent a link to this particular thread to RD as well, perhaps they will see the
light and develop ANOTHER bracket w/ a different part number that
they can sell to the public.

I even called Cummins in El Cajon. They called back this AM empty.

SIGH

Here is EXACTLY what we need. Yea, I could fab this up but it will
take a LOT of time, plus I need a compressor that I can buy and
buy AGAIN if it fails to design with. If I had this bracket...I could draw it
sitting here at my desk. I am bummed. Another part made of unobtainium.

muhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Oh man...I SO NEED THAT BRACKET SO I CAN DRAW IT IN CAD!

THE NSN NUMBER FOR THE COMPRESSOR IS 4130-01-521-7816

TM_America also expressed an interest in producing A/C Compressor brackets. I hope you both develop one to give us some different options. It would be so much easier if there were an existing bracket out there that would work. I bet there is, considering how long the Cummins 855 engine family has been in production, we just haven't found it yet.

If you don't mind a unit on your rooftop, FLEETRITE sales a complete AC retrofit kit (bracket included) that is plug and play. Also, the M900 Series A0/A1 were up-armored in Kuwait and there was a bracket for the NHC 250.

The package is very cost effective at around 2900.00. Gets you the bracket, compressor, self contained unit, and pre-made hoses.

Please reply or PM me the specifics, as in all details if you could please.
I WILL have A/C in my M925A1 and if I help others achieve it GOOD.

What good fortune, this AM I was thinking abou things and SCHZAMM~! I found
a compressor as spec'd by RD on EBAY!

I NEED THE BRACKET! I am prety good at reverse engineering things like that
into a duplicatable form via CAD.

It PAYS to be nice to people!

I just got a call from a guy I helped who says he has a pile unobtainium /
A/C compressor BRACKETS for the NHC250 with Power steering, WOOWHO!~
They are EXACTLY as we need. The main bracket that
holds the compressor AND the tightener which is part of the !
bracketry ~! I am still in shock here!

As I posted recently I found the NSN for the compressor and found it and
purchased it so I should be able to strap that puppy in
and verify and then rejoice!

Alls I know is I have to pay thru the nose for them
and there ALL mine (and whoever else wants them, except
dudes that have treated me bad ;-)
...) . When I have one in hand I will
post pics. I "am" holding my breath, I do believe these
are correct parts!

Lets not clog this thread w/ requests, keep it to PM to me only
please and wait a week. I will not have them in hand for a week.
I need to clean my PM box too.

Blessed be those that count their chickens prior to their hatching... and then have chickens to match... but I am personally keeping my fingers crossed!!! I have been so tied up with my "bug out" place in central florida that the a/c in the 925 is not top of the list... we are also having nice, cool weather. One very important aspect of the a/c-heater setup is not just comfort related... it is that during rainy days or morning dew outings it is a bear to see out the front. I place a high priority in my "visibility factor" as any fogging on my windshield or side windows being hitten by oncoming headlights makes staying on the road a full time position.

Whatever I do with the heat and a/c I will have direct vents shooting cool or heated dry air to the windshield and side windows.

Thanks for the heads up and I am looking forward to sharing with you the r&d cost for these brackets... its only fair ... you know.
