I've got a 12v alternator, separate battery, and a electric 12v trailer controller. Not the easiest way, but it's the most versatile. I use the 12v for all my accessory lights and 12v auto accessory plugs. Leaves my 24v original and fresh for starting.

How about converting to dual voltage LED lights?

That doesn't help with 12v electric brakes.

I used a 12v converter from ebay, and relays to switch the lights and turn signals. The brake controller is powered directly from the converter and also has a relay-switched wire connected to the brake light switch. Has been working well for 7 years.
