Welding on Deuce do i disconnect batteries?

Ever hear the phrase "better safe than sorry"?
The time it took to read all these posts is more that the time it takes to pull a batt. cable off.
Been welding on Uncle Sam's trucks for over 26yrs, trust me, PULL THE CABLE! :deadhorse:

Honestly, I've welded on MVs a pretty good bit and never pulled the cables. Never had a problem.

It's actually probably better to disconnect the batteries though.

If I am doing a job for a customer I always disconnect the batteries, on my own stuff(my last welding rig was a computer controlled Diesel and I welded on the bed of it everyday) I am less careful. An old Deuce dosent have much you can fry, but if your that worried disconnect them. Just put in a master disconnect switch and make life easy.
