Well,I'm still waiting on the EUC to clear on that one, you're still welcome to ride along unless it clears just before Aberdeen, then i'll just pick it up on the way home.

Well, more work done to the 915 today,I fixed

Leaking front rear axle seal
Tightened the belts and have a new set on the way
Crossed all the filter numbers over to Fleetguard and Baldwin
Ordered the left side rear mud flap hanger to match the right side that WM included with the truck
Fixed the rusty drivers side quarter fender
Installed the air horn valve and plumbed it in,(gotta re drill the cab for the new horn)
Sent the title off to the state of NC to put it in my name and added it to my insurance
Adjusted the headlight aim
I got done just in time to drive it to the local cruise in and hang out for a while, the truck was quite a hit.

Again,Many thanks to Wreckerman for selling me this truck,I enjoy driving it more every time I get behind the wheel!!

I had a chance to look at this truck last week as I exchanged some gear with Wreckerman. It is a nice looking vehicle and looks better up close. Also must be nice to have your name stamped into the side of the hood panels. I suggested a little bright colored paint to the AM GENERAL on the sides before pick up just so it would stand out.:p

hndrsonj,I'm gonna try and get it there, along with the lowboy and my trail truck.

Bubba, yes,it's an automatic,a Allison 5 speed HT 750 CRD to be exact.
And yes as cleb said the third pedal is the activation switch for the Jake Brakes.

Upkeep isn't all that bad,no more than a 5 ton or Deuce

Wow I did not think the military believed in Jake brakes lol must be a new thing lol. Ok it all makes sense now. So what do they do fuel wise? 2 gpm (gallons per mile)? Lol

Well, unless I figured it wrong,it got 8 mpg on the way home from Bama a week ago.

BTW,I got the oil and filters changed today(11 gallons) changed the fuel filter as wellas the water filter, got the wipers working better and installed the New air horn.

Just a few more things to do before it's done.

More work done last night,I changed the trans oil and filter,I used Castrol Trans CHT for the oil vs 15W40.

Now I have a question for all you other 915 owners, are these trucks kinda sluggish to start off or does this one have issues?

It tends to bog a little while starting off with little to no smoke at all,the engine accelerates quickly in neutral and it starts easily,On most hills while bobtailing it'll drop 5 mph and any serious hill about 10 mph without downshifting to 4th.

I have changed the fuel filter and I am using a Fleetguard FS 1000 filter.

I'm gonna check the aneroid line to see if it's getting boost signal to the IP,any other suggestions?

Yup it's the aneroid. Mine was exactly the same. Loss of speed while bobtailing. Confirmed by rebuild shop. I posted a thread "replace Cummins PT pump" about the task. No big deal.

Check your turbocharger impeller for free spin just as a precaution.

Autometer makes a quasi-military looking 0-30 psi boost gauge which is available on ebay, just to verify performance.

Interesting. A friend of mine is reporting the purchase of 2 M916 tractors. He's working on getting them home now. Will post pics when they arrive. Brandon, looking better every day and thanks for the info on the towbars
