What all is in "annual service kits"?

I see lots of NSN-numbered "annual service kits" on eBay, but I don't see anything in the manuals that clearly lays out what annual service actually encompasses. What are all the seals and things in this kit for?

Brown ones on the left are ctis seals. 2 per wheel. Look like wheel seals to the right. Some fuel filters oil filters. I wouldn't mess with my axles as long as the fluid level is good and you are not having any issues with them.

That stuff is for a 3126 I think for the most part it's all the same but if you have a 3116 I'd check first.

I've seen more problems with people replacing non leaking seals only to have them leak due to a faulty seal or improper installation.

Sounds like good advice. I've just been curious because I see them all over eBay, and I wondered if and what I should be servicing regularly. Specifically, I was puzzled by the "annual service" name, when the manuals don't list any service intervals, kits, etc.

Now someone is cooking with gas! If there is such a NSN, it stands to reason, that it would firstly be in the parts TM, and secondly, be in the PS Magazine. And I would lay mucho dinero, on that!

Another bit of advice, I'd be particular careful buying surplus seals, pay attention to the expiration date of date of manufacture.

The filters are all over the counter parts. Most of the seals can be ordered new also.

Yes sir I too have seen people replace non leaking seals (on just about anythng) to end up with problems. They fixed it till it was broke... Installing seals properly isn't as easy as people think.

Maybe the thinking is FMTV crossfit gym for some.
