What am I looking at? M54 fuel pump shutoff cabling

Hi, I’m new here and I’m trying to get a M-54 running that has been sitting for 20 years. They told me it has a “rebuild” motor in it and I think it’s the continental duel fuel but according to some stickers on the filters it’s been converted to only run on diesel.
I don’t know much but I did see the “engine stop” cable has been disconnected. It looks like an electronic shutoff solenoid has been installed? Would that make sense? (See photos) I think this truck was in desert storm, so that might give an indication of age. Tho I’m not sure.
Any help telling me what I’m looking at would be greatly appreciated.

Yes Thats where the shutoff cable device would have been mounted. It does appear that it has been replaced with an electric shutoff.

Dont run it on anything other than diesel. The "multi-fuel" capability was a pie-in-the-sky dream of the atomic age that was troublesome in practice and commonly bypassed for durability sake.

That poor thing has some serious corrosion issues...

Ok thank you. Thats what I figured was going on that wire just runs up to a switch on the dash. So I assumed that was what had happened.
Yeah things sit here and rust next to the ocean, most of it is surface rust from what I can tell. Looks worse than it is.
