They are for lifting the truck, and no, I have never seen those on a G742 truck anywhere in the world myself. Everyone?

I just sold a M35A1 that had those same hubs on it. I was told it was for lifting the truck. My truck was purchased here in North Carolina from GL.

Ah, gentlemen, you are feasting your eyes upon the rare hubs of the M44 series water purification truck.

Do a search here on SS for water purification and you shall find wisdom, young grasshoppers.

They are referred to as a lifting kit in the water purification truck TM. I had 2 sets of these, I sacrificed one set for a super secret project. They are in fact, pretty cool. The NOS set I have have been around here for many years. Check the pics out!

Sounds great Joseph. Wouldn't work on these, that center lug piece is designed to spin.

Those hubs come as part of a lifting attachment kit for the G742 truck. Comes in a long metal box and can be stored o the front bumper when not in use. The kit was meant to be installed for ship loading and removed when the vehicle reached it's destination. The rear mounting parts attached to the cargo body and the pin on top of the trunnion mount at the center of the rear tandem axles. JT out
