Hi Folks: Brand new member here with a question about my purchase. I have aquired a m35a2 that is rust free, straight, and in good operating condition. My question is why do the rear wheels look like the super singles on the newer trucks? I thought the outer duals were just not installed, but these look like they are intended to be single. Jeep guy here with a little knowledge about m715s and older jeeps, but new to the big guys.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Yup, your hubs have been flipped and your truck is now "singled out".

Thanks. I kinda of thought that the hubs were flipped by reading on this wonderfull forum. I appreciate the responses, and will post pics of the truck when I get it home later this week. My wife will be impressed because its the most solid relic I have dragged home in the last 20 years :) Even more amazing is that it will arrive home under its own power!

This was done in a upgrade program done at depot level in the late 80's early 90's. Went away from the non-directional tires and replaced with the 11R20's like you have.

Well, My new aquisition made the 50 mile trip home with no issues. Ran fine at 50 mph. wipers would have been nice to clear the snow of the windshield, but hand operation got me through.
One questions to members: Besides dieting, is there any way to get the steering wheel from rubbing my belly? Seriously, the seat was all the back, and I have no room!! Pics attached.

You could use a 5 ton steering wheel but turning is going to be harder but it will give you a little more "belly" clearance.

The blue bus in the picture is an old school bus I turned into a tool bus for my construction business.
shop on wheels, complete with fridge, microwave, and a/c. Park it on jobsite, and makes a good place to have lunch, etc
