Wow!! Yeas I saw the technical manual section, but never realized this many manuals were necessary. These things are huge. How do you look through them on the computer? I prefer hard copy. Can these be purchased? Thanks.

A PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat is used to view these.

They can be purchased.......I bought most everything for the Deuce in 2003 and it was way over $300.....

OK, lets approach this with the KISS principle. As far as runaway, if the engine starts and goes to full throttle, you may not be able to stop it before it explodes. The shutoff mechanism in the IP can cause this. Have a second person ready with a board to block off air to the engine. You need the mushroom off to do this. Now onto the manuals. There are some 21 or so TMs on the site for the deuce. You can get a good start with 3 of them. TM 9-2320-361-10 is the operators manual. TM 9-2320-361-20 is the unit support tech manual. TM 9-2320-361-34 is the depot manual which includes even more detailed info. The manuals with the 361 in them are the latest ones. The ones with 209 are an earlier series and are difficult to navigate. If you want to add parts manuals, look for the TM 9-2320-361-20P and TM 9-2320-361-34P. This is the core set of manuals used for the multifuel deuce. Of course different folks prefer different series of manuals but these will give you a great advantage over nothing. I have nothing against either paper or PDF manuals, I collect both.

Kenny,
Got it. Thanks again for the advice. Didn't think about cutting air off. I'll keep looking through the manuals. I'm trying to learn what I can before it arrives.

Just to clarify for me since I'm still learning, I thought the -1C in the engine model number designates that it has (or was originally equipped with) the C turbo? thanks, Joe
Negative - LDT465-1C or LDT465-1D refers to the engineering change level of the engine, mostly internal components. Either on could have either a C or D turbo, depending on what was on hand when the engine was built/rebuilt. I have a -1D engine with a C turbo.
