What fuels do you run your turbines on?

I've acquired an MEP 362, a few maybe, with a tiernay tt10. I'm assuming they'll run okay on anything combustible , but my main concern was compressor surging or exhaust gas temperature. I'm also on the hunt for a solar turbines t62, but what I wanted to know is, what is safe to run in these?

The bullet-proof choices are:

Jet-A is the easiest to buy at your local airport that services jet aircraft.

JP-4 or JP-8 works great but it is not readily available in the public domain.

Do you have the operators TM for the MEP-362? The list of fuels that you can use is in it. In fact, anything combustible will work. In the Army, we used DF2, Jet-A, Jet-A1, JP-4, JP-8. Most generators have a data plate on the outside, with of Authorized fuels.

Easy answer, K1 kerosene which is readily available and about 6 bucks a gal and about the same as Jet A.

Diesel is cheaper.

I might suggest if you run diesel in Chicago that it be treated or "winter blend" if used in an outdoor environment......just saying.......

I've been running it on diesel so far, and I was aware of the official list of fuels that mostly consist of kerosenes and jet fuel, but was wondering specifically about running on lower octane gasoline , or weird stuff like tequilla

Tequila can make you do some seriously weird stuff or maybe it's help you do some seriously weird stuff..... I don't think I'd use gasoline

Any combustible fluid can be used in a turbine engine. Perfume for instance, will work. Tequila would work even better.

I'll keep this in mind if I run across a bunch of the stuff, thanks for uploading the manuals!!
