What got cut out of my M998?

Noticed this nicely cut out section of the drivers pillar that is intact on my other M998's. Any idea what was in that location that the military or Bubba felt the need to cut out prior to transfer to me?cut out.JPG

My guess is to access some nut thats behind there. Mine had that whole panel removed and replaced with a shop fabricated piece pop riveted in place. I then hole sawed a one inch hole to add a door hinge nut where they drilled a nutsert out for armored doors

Could’ve just been someone who dropped something in that void and didn’t care how he got it back.
Oh like the time I accidentally dropped the camshaft washer down the timing cover of my 240SX... One week later with every type of curved wire hook, grabby claws, and magnet sticks, I finally hooked it with a piece of silver jewelry wire!

Thanks, but, no. I have parts Humvees all throughout the property. My son thought some sort of part or fitting got cut out and we searched the bone yard and nothing was ever attached there in any of the other Humvees. So the access cut out makes perfect sense.
