I'm uncertain what you are looking for? Are you unsure if it's a CUCV or a specific model?

If you are trying to buy parts it is pretty much an 84' K30 diesel except for the starting and charging sustem.

Validate the VIN yourself. I don't think #'s HF #'s is military. Could be wrong, it might be USAF or USN. If it is FF then it is Army and I have a record for it.

This is why I say to validate the frame numbers.

Yup...looks like another CUCV

Who cares what it is, RUN IT!

Post up a photo of the interior dash and under the hood so we can see if it looks stock or cannibalized.

I think someone stole a character from your VIN. I would be interested in seeing the VIN tag up on the dash behind the windshield. It would be tough to title here with a missing character. All the numbers in the VIN check out to be a 1987 M1008. There is certainly a character missing from the production sequence number. Have you checked the VIN tag up under the glass?

G indicates 8001-9000 gvw.
H is 1987 model year.
F indicates built in Flint.

If it was built in Flint, MI I would assume it would be a 17 digit VIN. Wonder if it was exported directly to Canada.

1987 M1008

As stated earlier, CARNAC may be able to find some info if it was US Army.

Pull up the 2013 VIN Info thread. Be sure to read and follow the instructions in the first thread

shaft wasnt bent, door dent was a previous owner addition. would love to have more infor ation about where it served. not sure if theres anyway to find that out.
87 was the last yr for the cucv I truck. the first truck in that yr would have hf300000 built around 8-86. of all the 87's ive heard about in the us ive never seen a sequencial number over 320000 with a build date of 9-86. i think this was an export truck built later in the model yr. what does the data plate say about production date? thanks, mark

I looked up the truck at www.compnine.com. It does show that it is a military truck. (one of the few that does show up). Sadly it doesn't show the build date.

I'll pull the report again and send it to you.

The Compnine site lists all the RPO codes for vehicles. I use it quite often so I bought a membership.
