Rmtaunton - thanks. She was actually having a melt-down because I wouldnt let her hold the nozzle and fill the tank. Two yrs old is a little too young for that job. I look the same way when paying, which lately has been a tank every week or 2.

Changed out the stock headlights to H4's

So far I like this conversion. Thank You to all of the poster in the following thread http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?42950-Headlights
Jollyroger had the best info. The only thing I would do differently and will probably change is the base used to connect the bulb. The one I ordered has a smaller wire then the factory connection, so I'll order a new one with better wire. One caution is that this set up is not water proof, so if you plan on fording water over the headlights you may want to consider something else. The gain in visibility is wonderful and now I can buy replacement bulbs for $12 More Photos to follow.

Headlight conversion.

Sourced everything from E-bay, Amazon, and Eric's. Spent less than $80 $29 for the glass lens, $8 for the connectors, $25 for the bulbs and about 10 for shrink tubes and wire connections.

Molle Idea

I have some old plate carriers and was thinking about mounting them above and behind the seats. Any thoughts?

Really looking for a way to gain storage space and I like the versatility of the Molle System. I have some better Ideas but they require metal Fab work that I do not have access to. Here are some Ideas I browed from a Jeep sight.

I pulled my stock seats, battery box and soft top today. Then I laid down some thermal barrier in my floor and installed my new air ride seats and modified floor mats. It is amazing how much room you get when you delete the batteries and box from the cab. Tomorrow I will finish it off with a freshly painted hard top. I Cant wait to get my AC bracket from kenway and get started on that install.

They are Bostrom Air Ride seats out of a M915A3 cab. They were really easy to install and I even reused my factory lap belts. I did gain some distance vs the stock setup. I am 6'2" and weigh 260 and the new seats seem to make the truck fit like a glove. The seats can move way further forward and a little further back, plus they have 3 other adjustments in the seat and back.

Coolant flush and refill

Flushed the radiator and block as the tag said the coolant was last changed in 2008. Drained and refilled with water, brought the temp up to 180 degrees, thermostat opened, drained and repeated again. The existing coolant(green) and water was fairly clean. Added 9 Gallons of Fleetguard ES COMPLEAT 50/50 and one gallon of the full strength.

Then installed the new Super-Single spare tire, but all I had was the old G177 highway tire retainer plate which is much narrower. So I back over it with Zeus and it flattened the wings and now it fits fine and safely secures the spare. Added 2-2ton ratchet straps for for some added piece of mind.

Bolted a unused cup holder from my father's late wheelchair on the passenger side dashboard under the grab bar.

Installed (12) 5/8“ x 1 1/2“ bolts and lock nuts on each side of the frame where the tandem wheel spring hanger were.

Finished hand sewing the front edge of my 923s roof. Used two glovers needles and saddle stitched her on up.

Masked off and painted the interior of my truck with wsucougarx's recipe for Behr paint and a Wagner spray gun. The lack of spray pattern and volume control on the Wagner made it a bit rough for tight interior work. But it is drying.

Had the o-rings in three wheels replaced late last week. CTIS now functioning flawlessly.

Saturday we sanded some cracked areas of CARC on the hood and primed the spots where rust had begun. Some more work to do next weekend to get the spots feathered out to an acceptable level before we spray them with our Rapco CARC substitute. For a truck with only 1K miles on it when we got it, it sure had quite a few paint jobs!.... THICK!
