What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Clearance lights,both front and rear,are a U.S. DOT requirement on all vehicles over x amount of inches wide. I forget the the exact number. Therefore,am general would have been required to install them on all H1 Hummers. Ever wonder why all dual wheeled 1 ton pickups have them,yet their 1 ton single wheeled brothers don't?

Not sure of the necessity regarding this post, but thanks for the info, i'm sure to keep it in mind. But hey tell me something, isn't the H1 and Humvee the same width? 7' 8" Wide? The logic behind my decision to install the Clearance lights was not based of safety (DOT requirements) I simply think it looks Bad a$$!

If you are going to park an H1 behind your sign you would be correct. If you are going to park the truck in the picture next to the sign pictured then you are factually incorrect. Apples and oranges.

Wow! ok, and I'm supposed to get all that from... " You spelled hmmwv wrong?" Boy one would have to dig deep to decipher that sarcasm. You had me scared for a moment. I thought i may have mis-spelled hmmwv wrong on the poster board and here is was just your poor sarcasm. Moreover, You say.. "Apples and oranges." ha, ha, well they are both fruits! But seriously, let me try to understand "your" logic. Let's say If you own a Military vehicle and you're currently listed in the military then you would be "Correct" to drive a military vehicle. If you own or operate a military vehicle and you are not listed in the military (you're a civilian) then you would be "factually incorrect to operate (Drive) a Military Vehicle. Military vehicles are for the military and military personal, no? After all, doesn't the Military require a Humvee operator license? I don't know, but if they do, do you have one? if not then your not "factually" Correct to drive that military machine, in theory. I mean i don't support that logic (apparently you do) i believe in freedom, freedom to make a banner and display it next to my personal property, but Isn't that the same logic? Maybe I'm wrong? Nevertheless, I borrowed the saying " LIKE NOTHING ELSE" because it's most fitting and the humvee and H1 are very similar (Year for year that is) NOT identical TWINS but very VERY similar. The H1 was model from the Humvee for crying out load. It's not like I'm parking a FORD under the banner for that would be a crime (Sorry Ford guys i couldn't resist). The word play i used is clever and most fitting weather you like it or not.

I have a HMMWV it doesn't look anything like yours and you know what that's ok.
Enjoy your Humvee and I'll enjoy my HMMWV .
What's most important along the way is to remember it's a retired military vehicle.
How we choose to represent it as it's new civilian owner should not tarnish those that fought / fight in them to give us the right to own one.
You seem to be doing a good job at that keep going.
Oh and I'm a Ford guy so that was close.

Yeah i got a cool humvee tee-shirt also. I will up load some pics. It' made up of Marvels The Punisher Logo infused with the front of the Humvee (see picture). Now the Punisher Logo without the humvee on it would be "Correct", but since the manufacture of this T-shirt infused the front of the Humvee onto the Punisher logo in becomes "factually" incorrect, according to some peoples logic. Nevertheless, check out my T-shirt.

Hello again BH. Thank's for the complements once again. Well obviously i didn't know what he was referring to and it doesn't change anything. I mean come out and say what you me the first time as to avoid any confusion, you know. Maybe it wasn't hard for you to decipher but please understand, that's you. I mean com 'on, almost anybody else would have taken that commit literally and think there was a a legit mis-spelled word, specially when it happen once before on my humvee show board, redos get expensive just ask Action. I know it's my truck and i will do what i please and i agree with Ricky Nelson and the garden Party song, (...Can't Please everybody) but Dock Rocker is free to speak is mind the First amendment gives him that right as well as it gives me the same right to reply. I mean come 'on, A guy (Like me) post on a form which is titled..." What did you do to your Hmmwv today/lately" and he gets attacked/grilled! com 'on man you know thats BS and i believe you would have also fired back if it was you, maybe not? I didn't start this. As for the Ford commit, Friends don't let friend drive fords. So after that confession, it really leaves are relationship in real bind! i don't think it will ever be the same? I Just don't think i can be your friends anymore? I'm just messing with you. Humor is good!

Got to play with the truck this last weekend. Provided communication support for an endurance run through the mountains here in NE Utah. Found an alternative use for the UPA support.

I was driving home from work yesterday down a typical Indiana county road, enjoying the late-season corn fields, when on the horizon I spot a curious camo-painted shape. As I approach, to my amazement, its a pretty fresh M1101 trailer- for sale- in front of a house there- less than 2 klicks from my house!! Well, I wasn't in the market for one at all, but I do know they are cool -and- all of the ones I've seen are usually located a lot farther away. I couldn't get home and get my old M998 started up fast enough (which by the way is a great way to drown out the wife trying to tell me I don't need a trailer LOL) and get back to the guy. He was pretty stoked to see a hmmwv pull in and take the trailer away, and I got a pretty neat new accessory! The madness continues...

Nice Trailer, very nice! As far as i can see it looks new. The camo looks great. Apparently you bought just the trailer? I still want one of those trailers. My humvee pulls a M101A3. I have the same issue living in Wisconsin all the really good deals on these trailers are far away from me. But nice trailer.

I wish I had the time this weekend to install this puppy this weekend, alas, camping trip with my groomsmen. This rebuild looks absolutely phenomenal, and they really did a lot with a piece of trash for not a lot of money ($280, shipped both ways). At this point, I can only comment on appearance, but with the details they took care of, I'm pretty convinced they did a fine job. We also spent a lot of time communicating to ensure that they could handle 24V solenoids, and that they would be fine building to the military spec and obtaining the few parts unique to the military variants, if needed. Alas, time will tell if this actually works!

They did tell me that they did the usual seal replacements, plus they opted to replace the housing with a remanufactured housing and also replace the servo advance assembly. I did notice that they also repaired the throttle lever assembly, as it was slightly bent, causing there to be some drag. On the replacement housing, they have a new aluminum tag riveted on that has their company name, but my pump model, serial, and my customer number engraved cleanly in. All this is apparently in their standard service cost, so it looks fine and the cost is fine.

That seems like an excellent deal. I fool around with old Farmall and Allis Chalmers tractors and a pump rebuild is always at least $600. Please post the company info.

Got a set of bead lock inserts from Stazworks to review on the Battlewagon. Not sure if I'll have time this weekend to break down my wheels and install them, but I'm looking forward to having them installed. People I trust have told me that running with no runflats is fine as long as I don't air down too much. And I don't air down at all, but it still makes me nervous.

Offroaders have been running re-centered hmmwv rims with inserts for 10+ years now expressly for running aired down. Should be fine as long as you keep enough psi to avoid pinching the sidewall

Tore off the old fiberglass repair on my cracked hood and replaced it with a more thorough repair and plenty more fiber mat. Some bondo and ultra flat paint and I think it’ll do. Not perfect but a lot better than before.

I assume so. There are 2 holes, opposite each other.
