What is the "body style" for a M35A3 on the SF97?

I have seen some people use stake truck and others use pickup truck, does it matter? Also, the truck is listed at 13900 lbs and in another spot at 14600?

The SOS registered my M35A2 as a stake truck. I don't remember what was on the SF97. Are those weights on the data plate?

No just on the Gl write up. On the front page it lists 13900 and then under the NSN it list curb weight at 14600.

Michigan considers them a stake truck , the SF-97 said cargo on it the S.O.S. wanted a picture ,then classiffied
it a stake truck.

Edit: anything over #10,000 without a factory pick-up bed requires a GVWR plate ,unless it meets antique status .

On my M35A2, I tried to use Cargo, but the DMV wasn't recognizing that term in their data base. Finally a supervisor came to the window and asked if the truck had seats in the rear. I responded with a paused "Yes, as a matter of fact it does." She plugged SUBN into the computer, which in NY, stands for suburban type body.
Great! No restrictions now.

Try to stay away from the term "stake". Insurance Co.'s will charge more for a stake bed than cargo. I tried the pick up term and SS said they wouldn't take it because of the weight. :(

I looked at our titles/registrations, regarding model shown:
#1 Deuce= "Truck"
#2 Deuce= "Unknown"
#3 5 Ton= "blank"
I recall one Deuce that was registered as a pickup truck and issued 7,000 pound plates, because they didn't know what else to call it.

My SF97's have come back "cargo"

Michigan SOS has called one a pickup and the last 3 "utility" because of it haveing 3 axles
Use the weight that is on the data plate
