Our rigs IDEAL rpm is what? 1,650 RPM? I had a friend with a formula to offer the engine rpm at what speed with x size tires, y trans & z gearing... Seems with my set up we figured I'd want 3.73 to have the perfect rpm @ 73-75 mph, but I am not at all sure what the gear options even are for our axels???

I am going for better/best rpm/millage on the highway, I know you can get a set of 3.08 for the 1/2 ton running gear but I've never seen it for the D60 or 14 bolt???

Dose it get any lower than a 3.73 for the 5/4 ton stuff of is it even 4.10? What's the best gearing for highway?

Better yet what would I need to do to REGULARLY avg. around 20 mpg or better on freeway?

FYI- standard 6.2, installing banks turbo with NV4500 behind it all & 33x12.5" tires.

Thx guys, your knowledge is MORE than appreciated!

Thx guys

Huh?

U mean ring & pinion?

I suppose what I'm asking is what the the lowest gear-set they make for the d60 & FF14 combo?

Do they go as low as 3.08 or is 3.73 as close as it gets?

I do not know about gear ratios and axle gearing. I do know a 700R4, well built with a torque converter lock-up switch will give you better low gearing and overdrive as well. Add to that tall tires, like 255-85-16 and you should be there, or close. I also recall reading someone was putting 3.73's in theirs, but only faintly, so I may be wrong.
