What is the switch on the floor? Fuel?

What is the R and L switch on the drivers side of the cab on the floor between the door and the seat?? Is that the actual fuel tank switch from R to L and the switch on the dshi is just the gauge switch?? I can get some pics tonite if anyone is confused on what switch I'm trying to describe.......
