I have one like that on my 1009, but mines on the hood, not the roof.

It should be connected to the batteries. I don't know if it really charges them as much as it keeps them at a steady state or so I was told.

Hmm okay, is it a round hole carved up all through the roof?
Was the picture you posted a picture of your truck? I'm not real clear on what you are asking.

That was a picture of a solargizer (possibly misspelled).

I have something like that on my 1009, but it is on the hood. There is a hole drilled through the hood that the cable runs through. It looks like it has had some sealant put on it to seal it up so it won't leak.

the vin doesnt match up to a military vehicle but the rest does...

I got that hole in my roof looking like that stuff might have been there :p

Well if it did have a solargizer on the roof, I would think there would be more than 1 hole. The solargizer has to be fastened down somehow.

The hole could have been for wiring for a light bar, or if this was used by a government entity, it could have been used for a hazard light or something like that.
