Perhaps the date on the tag says "82" for the assembly year. Parts made in 1981, put together in 1982, I could see that.

On the frame on the passenger's side, in the front wheel well, should be the date stamp for the frame. IIRC, it is in a dd-mm-yyyy format. That's the best way to tell the year that I'm aware of...

Trucks made about a month after the rockwell axles.. The O825 series is one of the newest.. Most of the 1970s trucks were made in the 0525 series 82K74 seems to me to be air force... and the 82 for 1982. the vins by series start at 10001 so yours is the 218th in the series.. If it has a vertical stack with a rain shield it is probably air force...too.. RAM

You are right about air force I got it at MacDill AFB a few years ago. When I got the SF97 they sent it as "year unknown" but I had them change it to 1982. I never could find any numbers on the frame. I am thinking of getting it legal soon and I want the right year on the title. Thanks, Paul
