I need info on which trailer would work best behind my M1009 and how much I should expect to pay. I've seen some on GL starting bid is $150 for 2 but its 4 hours away from me. I have found one within an hour away at a carlot for $500. Any advice would be helpful.

The m101 3/4 ton trailer will be less of a load than the m105 1 1/2 ton trailer. It will still hold way more weight than it is rated for. The guard unit here in town uses the m105 behind deuces and the m101 behind the hummers. The m105 is overkill for you. The GL units sell cheap but you don't know what you are getting until you pick them up. $500 for a decent trailer that you can check out is an ok deal because you know what you are getting. Make a decent offer and get a sure thing locally. That's my 2cents.

If you go for an M101, go for the M101A2.
The M101A2 is still is over rated for an M1009 but it has surge brakes where as the M101A1 does not.
You won't get one M101A1 or A2 for $150 let alone two.
Which model is at the car lot? $500 is way too much for an A1 and okay for the A2 if it's in great shape with a cover.

A bunch fo the M101A1 and M101A2 have been going for over 500.00 on gl the last few auctions I bid the mim so I can see
how much they realy close at . SO if you can get a nice one that you can look over good for 500.00 that is the way I would
go far.

Here is the easy breakdown for "trailers to tow behind a CUCV":

M105 series trailers No. WAY TOO BIG.
M101 Series: Yes, with the M101A2 (has surge brakes) most desireable out of the M101 series.
M416 Series: Yes.

Try to find a 3/4 ton trailer with a crank up landing leg. You will thank me later when you have the trailer loaded. Most don't have it, although I have seen some come up with the crank up landing leg. They are very rare from what I have seen.

Member timntrucks has a heck of a nice M101A2 in the classifieds.

Partime, are you coming to the Ga. Rally in October? All the cool kids will be there. :D

I have the flat deck version of the 101 with the HMMWV style tires and surge break. It pulls very well behind an F150 so I suspect that it would do as well behind your CUCV, I hope that it will do well behind the Wrangler. Go with the 101 series versus the 105.

Blazer was only rated to tow M416. Page 2-57 of TM 9-2320-289-10 Operator's Manual :"M1009, equipped to tow M416 Series 1/4 ton trailers with maximum towed load of 1200 pounds for both cross-country and highway travel. Load on tongue should not exceed 100 pounds." Just FYI!
