Will MEP-802A run a 18000 BTU 3 Phase ECU?

Looking at an MEP-802A tactical generator to run an 18000 BTU ECU. Does the 3 Phase hook-up enable me to do this?

I have done calculations on amps used by the ECU (10.2) all of the info I can find on the web seems to be for gas generators for RVs.

Also have a DRASH Power Distribution Box with 3 Phase 120/208 input/output. Should I use #12 (25ft) for a cable from the PDB to the ECU? I have found info on the web that states you should use a 20 amp circuit breaker for the #12 Wire.

I have a MEP 802A and assuming the 10.2 amps 3 phase you stated that is required and assuming the ECU will run on 208V instead of 240V, the 802A will RUN the ECU but it may not START the ECU. What is the starting or inrush current of the ECU?

I have those 18k nordic ac units they dont take much power to run on ac. Its a bit more on heat though because its just a wire heater coil. I was running one on my 10k gen it barely registered on the load meter. I think you should be fine with the 5k gen.

Three phase is not as hard on starting amps. It says you need 10.2 amps per phase, the generator in three phase configuration will put out 17.3 per phase. So that leaves you 7.1 amps per phase for the starting load. Generator should be able to handle that, esp since it is three phase.
