Winch Lubrication Order

Am I reading the Winch LO correctly.

1 1/4 pint in the worm gear side and 1 pint in the other..?

When I drained it, it had much more than that in it.. Like a half gallon or so..

Does overfilling create any problems...?

Not at all... except for a greater tendency to leaking.

Shouldn't be a problem with fresh seals all around and sealed bolts on the gear case assy.

I personly like the idea of filling both gear cases with corn head grease, less leaks, stickier hence better lube
