Took the inside door panels off yesterday to see if the window action could be made to go a bit smoother.
Why aren't the slides and guides glistening from grease? Everything is bone dry and slightly rusty. No mention in the TMs about lubricating this mechanism.
Do you guys have any comments? I'll be lubing mine for sure....

I use that white spray lithium grease but I sure would like to find something better. I may start using synthetic grease. Nothing like well lubed door latches, window regs, hinges, engine side panel latches and the like. When thoroughly lubed they work so sweet.

Hey, that's cool! The whole panel comes off. I use regular ol grease from the tube. Wonder why they didn't make the seuce and other M series vehicles. It's a PITA to work blind.

Mike at ODI said when he rebuilt his doors that lube in the guides would destroy them. I think I saw itr in his Bocca Deuce thread, you can read through the 30 pages if you want.

I think they were left dry because they often operate in dusty conditions and grease will attract dust and dirt. But after 40 or more years of exposure to rain and weather, they don't operate so smoothly. I say grease all the components you can get to.
