I search but could not find anything useful. My windows are all there, I just need to get them to go up and down. But it's not like a car from the 60's or 70's. Can someone point me at a thread about removal and getting them to slide easily again. The entire steel frame comes out?

Yes. There is a single screw with a "stop block" that you have to remove in order to remove the window and frame. Once you remove that, you can roll the window up about half way, then disengage the regulator and lift out the window. Inspect the tracks. Way back when the windows road in "felt". Slick-em on that "felt" will go a long way toward them rolling up and down. Removing the regulator and cleaning and greasing that mechanism will get you the rest of the way. Very light grease. Even vaseline can be used since there is no real "load" on the regulator...

The window regulators and the window assembly in general are trouble areas on these trucks. What you're dealing with is common.

I've recently completed a dissassembly, cleaning, and assembly of the doors. It wasn't a hard job, and the procedure was clearly set forth in the tech manuals. There are a lot of components, but the instructions are clear and lead you in the correct order which reduces the frustration factor.
