I considered the 3.73 setup as well as I had an even swap for my 4.56 setup. I feel the truck needs the 4.56 if you plan to work it as the 6.2 is no powerhouse. In the end I compared the numbers between the 3.73 and collecting parts for the 700R4 swap. Here's what I found (numbers from the grimmjeeper gear calc).
3.73 @ 55MPH = 2295 RPM ***4.56 @ 55MPH = 2806RPM*** 4.56/700R4 @ 55MPH = 1859
3.73 @ 65MPH = 2713 RPM*** 4.56 @ 65MPH = 3316RPM*** 4.56/700R4 @ 65MPH = 2197
3.73 @ 70MPH = 2921RPM*** 4.56 @ 70MPH = 3571RPM*** 4.56/700R4 @ 70MPH = 2366
Incidentally, cruising at 3000RPM with the stock 4.56 gears and 400 turbo you would be travelling at 59 MPH. With the 700R4 89 MPH.
I am but a few weeks away (weather permitting) from my 700R4 swap. Should make a great truck an outstanding truck.
