Ive located a 543. Theres a pic in my album. Its sat and sat. I know 6yrs and hasnt been touched. Its 5 miles away. To be real honest, i think everything would need overhauled/replaced. Yall gander at it.

In a more familiar format

M543 5 ton wrecker. 11.00r20 tires ok. Running condition unknown. Wont start. Hours unknown. Mileage unknown. Buyer loads.

Thanks for the video. Got dizzy quick.

I would think you would have to be a skilled mechanic to be able to maintain one of these beautys, or independently wealthy

The 45,000lbs winch on the back with3/4 wire cable is certainly formidable. I know someone that needs one to do a recovery Sunday, but doesn't have one on his wrecker. It will be interesting to see how his recovery of a 55klbs crane in the water goes.
This sounds like the making of a good vidio.

Looks like there is only one pic in your photos, is that it? How well do you know the guy? I know some people have fixed things on trucks they wanted and suddenly the price changed! If the motor doesn't work, get it for bottom dollar and plan on putting in a motor. I have an AustinWestern bed on mine and the hoses for the boom run about $100 each to replace.

I know of the guy. I know what he is and how he veiws his belongings. Memphis may be a valid alternative. I have a means to have rigs hauled in for a fair price. Catch is that he has no winch so they either must run somewhat or i have to find a way to get it on and off. Soon itll be not as big of a deal.

As far as repower and hoses, i am about 100mi west of memphis(by the time shipping is figured, its usually not as bad as the initial sticker shock would suggest) and theres a place nearby that reuses original fittings to make new hoses or can get nearly anything you'd want. I also build farm implements for a living. Theres a vast supply of things not common to other places here. 75+% of industruy is dirt farming here.

On the other hand tho, i dont want to spend months rebuilding one unless i cant locate another way
