I've been looking over some specs for the m62, m543 and m246s. It looks to me like the m62 and m543 have an 18ft length but the m246 reaches 26ft. The booms all look very similar. Anyone have any incite? Does the m246 have that much more reach?

Yes....the M246 has a fifth wheel so it can tow a downed aircraft recovery trailer and to load same on trailer...it has a longer reach.......it is not a wrecker per se... but a recovery unit.... ACE All detailed in the manuals... ACE

Yes it does. it has and extra section of boom that it manually extended. The are normally used for aircraft recovery and thus need to swing the parts over the towed lowboy trailer.
