The wrecker is now mission capable and I decided to put it to work today.
Freightrain had two multi-fuel engines double parked in my tractor shed and a M105 stashed behind it. I had been storing some stuff in the 105 since we got back from the GA rally.
I emptied the trailer and using the wrecker I loaded FT's engines into the trailer.
As I got the first one loaded the cable on the hoist frayed and several strands broke. I cut off the bad section and improvised by putting a smaller hook on the hoist.
The second engine went in without a hitch and was followed up by a smaller Ford engine that was also occupying some real estate in the shed.
All in all it was a good exercise for Hugh (the wrecker's name [as in Hugh G. Rection]) and I got some practice using the controls.
