That is one beautiful M923. That's what I hope mine will look like at end state. Are those tires 1400's or 1600's ? Im guessing 1400's
I was real lucky on the truck, it only has 2800 miles and about 100 hours on it.
it was overhauled at the end of 2008, yes the tires are 1400's they are brand new so I will have them for a while. 1600's would be interesting but I would be worried about killing the power.

Thats what has got me on the fence on the 1400's vs 1600's issue. It really just depends on what tires I can come across first.

I have 1600s on mine and the power is more than adequate, but where I live is as flat as a pancake. If you have hills you will want to go with a shorter tire.

My 1971 M813a1

Been reading a few weeks after acquiring this truck from Rick in Spring Green, Wi. Algae in the tank made for a fun ride the 100miles home, but after two filter changes she made it just fine.
No big plans for her except keeping me company after the divorce and an occasional trip to Walmart. Maybe I can do a parade or a mudbog for show here or there? I know they don't do all that well with the 'tiny' duels. Would love a set of 1600's, but money is an issue having been 'downsized'...
Any thought's or comments about running commercial truck tires on them around town so as not to chew up the nice milspec tires?

I like the idea, but not the exercise!

Those tires get REAL heavy when you are playing with 6-10 of them. Rims are over 100lbs each iirc, I think my 11.00x20 tires are around 150-200 each, and my 395s are 230+ each.
