Ive thought of selling mine a few times. I bought it almost 1.5yrs ago and it still doesnt run. Has charging system issues. Besides all that there is a love for these trucks that cant be explained. Nobody has them. They arent flashy, they arent up to date, but lets face it.... They are cool as ****. They can do everything you need them to do. Any little issues you have with them you can always modify them to do what you need. Ill tell you what 8610086.2l.... You ship that truck to pittsburgh with an engine i will put it in for you free of charge just supply parts. I need a project and id have that engine in and out in a day for you.

It's deffinatley going. Where it goes depends on what I can do with it. The truck needs other work. It has some rust typical for the body style and some mechanical issues. No issues that stopped me from driving it on a almost daily basis. But they are there. Im not a dishonest person. I dont imagine the truck would have been worth too much even with a running engine. And by the way its still runs, sounds awful but its still going. I loved it, had alot of fun expierences with it. Met alot of great people from this site and other places with it. But I'm not ineterested in engine swaps. My time with the truck is over.

Your time with THIS truck may be over. Hmmm? Sounds like time to save up for a deuce!

Sorry to hear About the problems with your truck. If offers from other members don't work out please call me at (781)223-0616. Im on here daily but rarely post because I type with 2 thumbs on my smart phone. I currently have 3 spare 6.2 j code motors from rotted out M1009'S and would love to buy your truck and put one in it. I have a car trailer so transportation back to Mass would not be a problem. I'd love to save it from the crusher. Thanks. Fitzz

Don't sell, you will probably regret it later, just walk away from it for a week or two. My 1008 front axle went bad over the summer, very discouraging but I walked away from it for awhile and now I am starting too slowing fix it. I know I will be very happy to be driving it again soon. Just my 2cents.

Yes I agree these trucks are far a few inbetween. 2k is a lot for a repower when these trucks only sell for a few thousand running. Surplus military crate engines may be cheap. But offer no guarentees. And a gas conversion is quite a bit of work. And I'm sure it's possible, but I don't see anyone pulling and swapping a motor in 4 hours.

Challenge accepted, A couple more and it will be do-able by my brother and I.

And craigslist holds tons of good 6.2's for 150 and up. I would put an engine as the cheapest drivetrain part on my truck lol
