Ambassodor'd the MV Hobby

The ARK (our Deuce) and the M105 Trailer made a quick run across town today and spent TWO HOURS with a pair of Brothers-In-Law (One is a Postal Clerk, the other owns a Generator Repair/Installation Business) who are looking at joining our addiction and partnering on a Deuce of their own. Neither had ever been "up close and personal" with one, so I guess this was a DEMO RUN. They seemed to LOVE IT!

Well, after working on everybody's trucks but mine this weekend I took today off and started my heater install. just have to install the valves and wire it up and I'm good to go, no more foggy glass.

Well I made a new copper air line that runs from the brake air pack to the air tank. What a PITA that was!

Next thing for this week will be tear the front of the engine apart and replace the water pump gasket, timing seal and gasket, and the oil pan gasket. Oh and change all three belts and fuel filters and change the oil!

Going to be a busy week!

I found ANOTHER leaking wheel seal. One that I have replaced twice now. I think I'm getting Chinese replacement seals. Time to choose a new source…..

I went to a local sho that does sand blasting and hired them to do the work
They Blasted the bed and then applied the liner. I am making a guess I think
I heard them call it "speedliner"with a 72 hour cure time. the whole Job costed
me 1600 , which I thoiught was resonable considering the reg trucks are around 700 or so in the local area..


Its even got an Army Green color so once i repaint the outside it will still look nice like it was meant to be in there.

This is actually a catch up from the last 6 months: installed 2 mastercraft MRAP seats aquired from ebay which my back is thankfull for, connected the parking lights to work with service drive lights as seen on another post here, currently finishing a 12000lb electric winch installation, and working on a center console/lock box made from the original driver seat mount box.

well so far this weekend I've screwed up my winch while working out some kinks in my linkage. Now all of my cable is on the ground. I screwed Up my paint job with the pressure washer. Chipped Paint is all over the place. Yep so far its been a great weekend. I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing then spending time with my deuce.

Where do I start...

1) replaced all fuel lines to and from filters/ip
2) replaced belts. bought cheapie pipe wrench and 1-13/16 wrench for ac. Easy as pie.
3) changed engine oil and filters
4) checked valve clearance. None were tight, most were loose by .002-.004
5) changed tranny oil. Didn't need it, but I don't know when the last service was done.
6) drained coolant, going to flush and replace tonight

Over the last 2 weeks:
1) Drained WMO (filthy WMO) from fuel tank.
2) Installed spin-on adapter and primary fuel filter.
3) Changed secondary fuel filters.
4) Changed manifold pre-heat fuel filter.
5) Cleaned pre-heat nozzle of gunk, replaced "O" rings. Nozzle sprays a nice fog, "sparker" shoots blue fire.
6) Replaced too-short line from secondaries to IP.
7) Replaced J-pipe and top stack.
Changed oil and filters.
9) Installed new soft top support kit.
10) Replaced soft top "twist-turn" buttons.
11) Repaired west-coast mirror mount.

Tonight, she comes out of the barn, re-install the stack and soft top (8 ft door), we should be good to go!

Tonight I put in two brand new windshield frames/glass/seals. I was also able to get the driver fender back on after having removed it to replace the ip.

Do you have to remove the steering gear also to do that? Or scoot the engine over towards the passenger side?
