I belive I will be interested. First I need to evauate the condition of this one then go from there, I did see a few things that I would like to replace/find for this one. If you are interested in grabing and shipping them I could pay you for your time (and the parts of corse)

The one in Preston..a trailer model..has everything in it, lathe, press, drill press, and welder..Looks pretty complete. At the time I asked the guy he wanted $5500 for it..i would love it, way cool..but I dont really have a use for it. Already have a mill and lathe and it woulod just sit..so couldnt justfy $5500 on it. plus would have to buy a tractor to pull it..would be a cool piece though..

Any of the the trailer mounted shop sets are a heavier unit and all the main machines are much larger, unfortunately for owners of the shop set No. 2, which are the only units that used the machines that are issued in them. Hand tools, good to go........ lathe, valve grinder, air compressor, press, drill press, etc. are all larger than what we need.

J, do you happen to know the specs of the machines that where in the 2.5ton shop trucks? Who made which machine and what size/model they where? I am still looking but not finding much.

Drill press, valve grinder, portable grinders, portable drills, bench grinder are all Black and Decker. Lathe was a 9" throw, by different manufacturers. I have model numbers at my shop, will be glad to share them. I am still searching for the hydraulic wall mount press. JT

Shoulda is right! And I shoulda sold them for more money!

Actually, the B&D equipment of that era was pretty decent quality stuff. Not that it was quality that mattered to the Gov't.
None the less, Sioux is, and was, a better valve machine.

Well Made it home today with the truck :D. Drove out there to bleed the brakes out and hook up the air line, On the way out I decided the roads where clear enough to try it. It took 2 hours but we made it !!!! By the time we got home though it was to dark to take pics with my phone so I will have some more when I get back out to it.

I will admit there where a few scarry turns though, Towbars in the snow will be avoided at all cost for me any more:???:
