Are those gears suppossed to mesh where they help each other out. I think I'm doing something wrong with the geared lug wrench. Not sure how to use it. I feel dumb.

Yes, if you are removing or installing a dual, the gears must line up. Assuming wheel removal, it takes a bit of jiggling and rotation to get the inner socket to line up with the inner thimble and the outer socket to line up with the outer lug at the same time. Make sure you are at a near perfect 90 degree angle and it will go in easier. But you'll know when you get it because the big gear will line up perfectly and lock in. Then use the little bar for the outer lugs, then the big bar for the budd thimbles.
Once the lugs are loosened up, you can slide out the big gear a little and line up the holes, then put the little bar through both holes and turn until fully off. This 'deactivates' the torque reduction gear so you can get the big lug off faster.
If the inner is rust welded to the outer lug, then just make sure the inner is somewhat tight with the big bar, then remove the big bar and use the little bar to get the lug unstuck. Amazing.
Just watch out for cases where the bar cannot rotate any more because it's pushed up against the shoulder of the wrench itself. I scratched my head wondering why my lugs were so darn tight when I realized that the wrench couldn't turn at all. Doh!
If removing a single (front), stick the big pipe into it and anchor it towards the ground. It wants to rotate in the opposite direction that you move the little bar. Pop the lugs off with the little bar, which works against the leverage of the big bar (the reaction bar). It's an ingenious tool.

I use a 1" impact gun from harbor frieght. It was cheap but does the job. I use a bud/lug nut socket with a 3" extension. It all runs off the on board air.

I have a bigger impact wrench that I have to hold with 2 hands but I dont think its getting enough air. Seems kina weak

What size air line are you using? The big 1" HF guns need a 1/2" air line (and larger quick-connect fittings, if you use them).

Just so you know, some lug nuts come off real hard, It took a 10' cheater pipe to get some of mine off, broke two 3/4 extensions, one 3/4 drive, one stud, one bud nut,

I put on end of the bar on the curb and jumped on the other end

I use my Gear reduction to loosen stubborn lug nuts. It works every time! You cab get them though ebay. They even come with the sockets you need.

Go to eBay and type it in. It is on YouTube too! No more jumping on the lug wrench, just twist the crank. It is called a gear reduction lug wrench. It braces it's self against the hub. It will break off a wheel stud if you go the wrong way! Best tool I ever bought.

Definitely not big enough. Those quick-connects are only 1/4" and you'll be lucky if the hose is 3/8". Get a 1/2" air hose ($20 from Tractor Supply). If you don't have a large air compressor, put a gladhand fitting on one end of the hose and thread the other end directly into your air gun.
