I tow my M101A2 all over town with loads of up to 40 tires with the stock pintle lubed and maintained and the addition of the front L plate from an M1008 that I am going to tie into my class 3 hitch for added support. Don't let the horror stories scare you just be careful, make sure your hitch is intact, and you are not trying to tow a backhoe and an equiptment trailer. Who knows what was being towed by the one in the pic that had the bumper ripped off.

looking to purchase a m101a2 or a3 but the question I have is will my hitch work with the donut pintle on the trailer. My m1009 has the ball with the lock down latch like this one
I have that same pintal from tractor supply with a 2-5/16 ball I use to tow my M101A2 with my F-150. Its works good but does jerk a little.

:ditto: I do light towing with my M1009 with the stock pintle. I mainly use it to tow my fourwheeler (600Lb)

I towed my m101a2 with my four wheeler in it and few other things on a 500 mile hunting trip with no issues using the bumper mounted pintle on my m1009. It actually towed much smoother than I expected.

I would be careful with the combo hitch. I moved one of my trailers around my house with the tractor once with the combo set up and it would bind when turning. The Lunette on these trailers is very large and needs to be able to move freely in the pintle. I would bet that is why several people mentioned the jerking they would feel when towing. Good luck.
