Yes I did search looked though lots of post but not what I want to know. What are the specs on the rope that is BII on the wreckers I have some and will not trust it as I have opened two nos packs and the ropes just fell apart.

Yes thanks, but also the main one I was looking for is 1/2" I believe. But no worries if that 1&1/4" won't hold but 325lbs then maybe I should not have pulled so hard when I untied the 1/2", what would it's wll be 15lbs?

Didn't see a 1/2" rope listed. Which wrecker are you working from? - These excerts were from the M816 TM.

Looks like your illusive 1/2 inch should be around 800 lbs.

That would work for 1/2 "... Do you have the pulley blocks or do you just need rope? What's the price/availability (loctn and weight for shipping) on the Green Line?

Not sure if it helps, but I've bought climbing rope before - 1 million uses! Would be great with tackle blocks as it wouldn't untwist inder load.

Always loads on e-gay, even black, also some 2" manilla right now!

Yeah greenline is sometimes called climbing rope or static rope, I like it better than Manila it seems to me to weather better.

Have also thought about the orange safety rope would be easy to keep up with! And I found some with a 9000lbs breaking strength, I would keep it in a repelling bag with my harness and carabiners so it can serve dual purposes, recovery and rescue.

For when you have to shimmey down the cliff to attatch the winch rope to the Hollywood star who just sent their Porsche into oblivion!

Okay this is not an add I have some Manila rope for the wreckers if anybody wants it they have to promise me they will not use it for other than display it is rotten and will break but will look okay. Come get it.

Okay guess the old rope goes on the fire. Anyone else use rope on their wrecker? Think I am going to get 300 feet to use for pulling my rear winch line out using the blocks I have and maybe a capstan winch.

I will be getting 300' of Manilla rope, just 'cause the BII says so. I have the two 1" pulley blocks though they don't appear to work as a pair (The single sheave doesn't have the thimble end - yet the double sheave does - should be the other way around inorder to get 4:1 pull or 3:1 with change of direction) ... I can't for the life of me see the purpose of the 1" setup in the BII, as it's lifting capacity is way beyond that which could be muscled by even a 2 man crew, with that said - alternatively why would you hook it to a vehicle when you have the real winches... Way more usefull would be a 1/2" or even a 3/8" pulley block setup.

On the other hand - use with a capstain would make sence - though I could see this if you only had a capstain instead of a pto drum winch(s)....

Any "Hotel 8's" who used an M816/M936 read this and want to chime in?.....................
