I thought It had a pretty good seat in it myself :) The first time I took the kids over the bridge I had a old cabover IH with a 318 detroit, would drive on the grates and then tell the kids to get up against the front windshield and look down :)

Here are a few of the pictures from the trip. I have not posted many pics since the new site format so we will see if this works out the way I planned. If it does, the first picture features the M813A1 in its natural habitat. The next picture is my older brother and copilot cutting his teeth on the 5-ton. Next is a shot of lake michigan as I was riding shotgun coming up on St. Ignace. For those of you that are not familiar with the UP, US2 just east of the Mackinaw bridge is one of the most beautiful stretches of road that you can travel. Watching the sun shine over the ice and water of the straights was brilliant. The next picture is at a rest stop last night while I was resting my butt and ears and prepping for the last few miles before my cottage. The last picture is my beautiful fiance' standing in front of the truck after it arrived safely at my house. She road along for the last 5 miles and although hesitant at first she has really taken a liking to the new truck. Tomorrow I am going to take the truck over to Brighton where it will be staying in a garage over there.
The truck has run flawlessly so far and, except for a little difficulty staring it this morning, the 855ci monster under the hood as thundered along just wonderfully. After driving the M813 for 8 hours my F150 felt like a smart car and my V8 sounded like a buddhist monk humming under the hood.

P.S. - Well the picture order did not turn out how I was hoping but I am too lazy to try to sort it out. If you can not figure it out based on the description you are on your own.

I am sure I will get there in time. For now I am still just a softie. I was pretty spoiled by the heater and hard top, it was a really cold weekend and they managed to keep the cap relatively warm.

Took the 5-Ton from my house to the garage at my uncles where it will be staying. 50 miles with no issues at all. I did need to put my garage heater under the block this morning to fire her up though. That engine is awesome but it is no fan of the winter temperatures. The garage it is in now is heated so I should not have that issue anymore.

We are going to try to spoil it as much as possible. It will be getting a fresh coat of paint in the spring and maybe a few add ons like a master cylinder reservoir kit.
