My plans have changed. It looks like it with be just me a Soldier B from early Friday to Sunday. My car won't fit on the trailer I wanted to use so I am trying to get someone to cover me at the fundraiser. If for some reason I can't find someone to cover me then I will miss out, but lots of Scouters owe me favors.

And those coming up the other way, via irwin rd and cooper rd I'll try to set up some piles of rocks to follow on thursday.
Gripy you are going to be looking for a lot of rocks, best to mark the route with some tumble weeds there are plenty of those out there.:-D

GPS coordinates

I just finished installinga 12VDC outlet for the Garmin GPS in the M35A2 truck. The Garmin does not use the last digits of the coordinates but a check on google shows that I should be within sight of the area.

If not, I have the Google directions from my home using Copper City Road, Google directions from Hinkley Road and Grass Hopper intersection and the Hinkley Rd directions from this thread (with pictures).

Now...watch me get lost and have to call for help or light up a flaming donut to send smoke signals.

Going up on the morning of the 4th.

See you all there,
Gordon

P.S.
By the way,
FASTNOVA...are you still giving your phone number to those who get lost?

We have cell phone service about 5 miles into the diagonal road after that nothin'. I'll have the CB on channel 5 for any lost souls and a good set of binoculars to search for the flaming donuts. You might get there before me so feel free to set up by the community fire pit or where ever you like.

I have the RT524 radio in the M35 that covers 30-74.95MHZ, and a 50-53.95MHZ radio in the M43. I am a dollar short and a day late again!

At least when I am lost I can have a conversation between the two lost vehicles. Maybe I can get a working "Gibson Girl" to use when I get lost..

(The above statement is for humerous purposes only and does not reflect the authors bad choice of radio frequency)

Thanks,
Gordon

Another mission scrubbed for us, family situation demands our involvement, only wish we knew about it before hopes got so high... try, try again--- wishing you all the best fun and a safe weekend, maybe post some picks for us no-shows, eh?

God Bless!

Just make sure you put in the gps coordinates correctly and your gps should lead you right to camp.
Fair warning to those with GPS. Mine evaporated last summer on a hot day, went into the store came back out gone. I think this new plastic they use must be water based, so try to keep it out of the sun.

I just might steal your patent and set up a few candy canes to the meet on the other route.

Good News! I was able to pull some strings so we could have a barbeque courtesy of the SS Rally Chow Fund. I figure we have enough for some steak tacos and hot dogs on Saturday. If someone wants to bring chicken we can put that on the BBQ too.

I'll be headed up there before 7pm Thursday. Brutus is fueled up and pointing at the exit sign. All I need to do is jump in and mash on the skinny pedal. :driver:

Got so involved in preparing the truck and ambulance that I finished earlier than expected.
So my brother and I decided to get into the wind since we are so antsy to go anyway.

Will be leaving tomorrow (Wednesday) in the A.M. If we are not there when you arrive please look for some smoke signals
coming from a nearby area where two lost souls have landed.

When are you all heading out? Which day?
