My wife wants to know
1 - Is the infection gender based??
2 - Is there a way to limit the infection - stay to 2TPI (2 Truck Per Individual)

Not wanting to violate any rules or guidelines here on SS - when my baby was delivered, in the back was/is a refueling pump with fitting, hoses, etc. I was going to post it on the classified ads, but the rule there states it must have a price. I have no idea of it value or who my have a use for something like this. How do I post an inquiry without violating any rules.

World is a whole lot smaller than you think.

Sounds like you started off on a good note - find another member and learn hands on.
Get the TM's and read before you drive - learn how to physically perform a pretrip and post trip inspection on your trucks. Safety.

Welcome to SS for you and your Son.

Keep away and off Silver Lake Dunes. :driver:

This is the stuff that came in the back of my deuce when it arrived. It looks like it is all part of the refueling kit - which does not appear to have ever been used.

Update on 'the son'. He loves driving it to school. Yes legal in Michigan. Now he wants something a little smaller - looking for a jeep. I was looking for the photo of the truck with all five service flags with the American Flag flying even higher, but I miss placed it. So here is a different one instead - I have posted this before - the day we towed home our M43. Oh by the way - My Son Jacob - off to college in the fall. Criminal Justice-ROTC-Army Reserve. My Daughter - leaves in 5 weeks for the Air Force.

A M1009 should suit him fine. My son thinks better of my '09 after I went over the cost versus the alternatives. He wants A/C though. Kids these days.

I have an M35A3 that the kids love to ride in. They are only 6 and 8 so I'm in a different situation than you, but they "help" me with the truck all the time. I recently aquired an M151A2 so we would have something smaller to tinker with. Priceless times for sure.

It is official - I am nuts! Coming home to day is a jeep. What type, condition, etc? Unknown. A coworker knew I have a truck or two (ok three). He asked if I wanted another one. All he knows is that it is a jeep - thinks WWII age. Was driven last year. It is now painted black. Hmmmm, do I want it? YES. Photos coming as soon as I pick it up - tonight.

At least you were diagnosed early. Since there is no known cure for the green addiction seems like you will need to spend more money on "maintenance" for the addiction.

New (Old) Jeep is home

So I went to pick up the 'army jeep'. Will it's not an MV it is a 1947 Willys. Do I dare say Ugh. I was really hoping it to be a MV. Of course with it being a 1947 it was right in the years were the military did not purchase them.

My son really wanted a military jeep - is it totally wrong to 'restore' and paint this to look military??

I see it has an alternator conversion. Looks like it's in pretty decent shape. I don't think I would 'militarize' it with M38s being relatively common - a good condition uncut 1947 CJ3 is not worthless either, and it is also a historical vehicle worthy of care.

of course, if the paint is shot anyway, you could surely choose to repaint it in a more appealing color...

It is your jeep! Paint it pink! Well, no..but you could.

The hardcore Jeep nuts (you know, the ones that tell you your Jeep ain't period-correct because that screw here was originally not stainless) would freak, but other than that, it is a nice, original-looking Jeep. It is so close to the MV counterparts that only a few would even spot the differences.

These were front-line, in-service haulers when I graduated from high school ('86); THEY WEREN'T AVAILABLE and HMMWV's were controversial because they were so big and different from the Jeeps and MUTTS.... Yes I'm old(er)

My Wife told me if I bought one more MV SHE would paint it pink. I guess at least I can say it is not a MV!

Because my son is ROTC / criminal justice he wants to decal it MP. There is one on eBay (I think I can so that and not violate the rules) that we are going to steal some of his ideas.

Edit out the Ebay part and say on a well known auction site Like i did above then you fit the rules. ^^^^^

I no longer ask if I am nuts - it is confirmed. This M601 followed be home today. The funny thing is that I was not going to bid on it at the auction - but my wife was standing along side me tell me to and even giving me the final price to bid too.
