major. No cooling and things get really hot.

Easy to tell. The water pump pully will either be v-belt or sepentine. If the pully is missing, then you have to pull off the pump.

I'd guess you need to swap your original oil filter adapter too.

And, install your vacuum pump too.

and glow plugs and temp sensors

and exhaust manifolds

I think the intake manifolds are not identical either?

I didnt read all the pages to this thread BUT I do have a question about the starter Bolts . does some one make a stud kit for the starters to use instead of the bolts .. Screw in some studs once and be done.. Will this work ? Just an idea, prevention is better than a treatment ... Sorry if its a dumb question

You could use studs but you would have to remove the flywheel cover to get the starter off.

The picture you posted has the correct water pump for the CUCV. It has the v-belt pullys. It spins in the correct direction.

If you get it your will need to remove air activated pully clutch. TM 9-2815-237-34 has instructions.

After weeks and weeks of working on it, I was able to fabricate a piece of steel very very close to the size that was missing jb welded it, and put in a thread insert on the other side, new starter and it runs!!!! It sounds like the starter is engaging well! Thanks everyone for your help!!!!
