Finally crawled under the trailer to check out the brake line. It's completely bent where the trailer flexes during a dumping. Ill have to cut the line a little ways after the pinch and reflare it (that'll be a first for me) and then add a 12-14" flexible line in.
So much for an easy fix.

Brake lines use a special double flare. A single flare trends to rupture. A good automotive tool place should have the tool kit, get a good kit the cheap ones are useless.

So I figure it'll be easier and probably safer to just use new brake line and not have to flare anything myself. I'll be crawling underneath to see how hard it is to remove the old line.

My son converted his 101 into a dump trailer. It worked but like others said it is not designed to dump constantly. It will fail eventually. Since trying this a couple times my son has discontinued the dump practice and we bought a Bri-Mar dump trailer. I did read here or someone told me that it was designed for shipping more trailers in a smaller space, but I haven't researched to verify this theory.

This is a good thread on it , post #1 has a sheet from the TM showing what it was designed for.

Why is it every time someone mentions dump trailer on this site everyone goes off on the same tangent about it not supposed to dump? I know this. I also don't care.
The same could be said about starting threads for simple parts that are covered in the TM's or looking at the need parts first and measuring.

It's a shame you copped an atitiude, there is more talent on this board than you could ever consume in several years. Several folks have a "been there, done that" approach, and it shouldn't bother you. Ask your questions, and do what you want, and forget about what you don't want.

Exactly what steelandcanvas said, this thread seemed to go along just fine. Everyone played well, even the OP and it seemed to run its course till someone new posted a reply that really has no reason to make anyone upset and even the replies to that post are not people going off on a tangent about the " not built to dump" aspect of all this. They said they "heard" about why it does have hinges on the front and if anyone could prove what they were for. He got an answer. There was no reason to get all pissed off about that.
