Oh and by the way, I was able to get the best DEAL!!! on insurance from USAA. I called and called and called around trying to get insurance. I got quotes from the $900 to $2400 dollar range. USAA got me covered via progressive for about 40 dollars a month. I also can use the truck to haul things as that is what i got it for. was able to pay for the year. its a win win for me. I read a post on the site that one of the fellow SS members posted and called USAA as he suggested and i was done in less than 20 minutes where i had been trying to get insurance for 2 weeks. That is why I like this site. Thanks

My m923 is now a dumper!!!! I got the kit from a trailer supply out of Texas premium-supply.com. The kit was less than $1450 it was a bit more due to needing the 24 volt hydraulic pump. That's including tax because I drove to get it. With shipping it's just less than $1500. It is a 520 hoist so a bit stronger than the 516. Capes welding in Tahlequah OK. Did the welding for me for $625. And I did the plumbing and the wiring. When I get a chance I will post how it does with a load.

Did progressive write you a commercial policy?

Right now I have a quote from gulfway for 123 a year.

Usaa wanted to forward me to their partner but I was hesitant because I know how much a commercial policy is for these size trucks through progressive.

Yes I have a commercial policy. Not that I am sure I would need it but if something goes wrong then I want to be covered. One of those thingies where about an extra $125 or so could save a ton later.

hello army nurse, would like to visit with you if possible about your type of tag on your truck and insurance. I am located in southern Oklahoma and just purchased a M932a1 truck. wishing to farm tag it or otherwise avoid having to obtain a cdl to drive the truck. I have my cdl but am wanting to tag the truck so that my wife and mother can drive it also. I do not want to have a DOT #, medical card or otherwise deal with the feds as I do with my 2 dump trucks. hoping you can shed some light on my situation. thanks.

I just tagged mine as private use, got a plate that is just like on my pickup. Have insurance from usaa through progressive. CDL is NOT required to drive because its title as a private vehicle ( just like one of those old people driving campers that are bigger than my house)

thank you so much 155mm. I appreciate the advice. was hoping I could do just that, and not have to have a cdl driver as a requirement. Is USAA a regular insurance company, or do you have be a veteran to get insurance with them?

didn't mean to start another insurance thread, just saw some fellow oklahomans on here and jumped at the chance to ask. thanks a million.

got our truck tagged/insured 7/16/14. insurance from shelter is $258 per year for 100/300/100. discounted to $218 for multiple car. took about 20 minutes with no drama. went to the tag office, got a personal use tag for $22 per year. no medical card, CDL , or DOT number needed woohoo!

have some advice for folks that are attempting to tag and insure a MV: take good pictures of your vehicle including the plate on the dash.

the previous owner of my truck had it registered as a "tractor trailer" instead of a "cargo truck". pics made all the difference in my case.
