Hard starting 1028

Hello all,
My son's 1985 1028 is experiencing some type of problem which I believe is fuel related. It runs fine for several days or more and then after sitting for a few days will not start. If he bleeds the fuel filter, then it usually starts. Little by little, we are eliminating many red herrings, but have yet to find the culprit.
We have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel tank, and the fuel lines from the tank to the fuel filter.
We are beginning to wonder if it's something downstream from the fuel filter, such as the injectors or the injection pump.
Any suggestions as to which red herring to chase next?

My 2 Cents. Or just replace the fuel pressure switch for $30. that will also repair the problem. Tight Budget is what I am all about.
I just went on and checked Ebay. they have one item eBay item number:231414797433 put that in your search and check it out $35.US includes shipping. That is an easy and quick inexpensive fix. That's my opinion. And I sent you parts for that fuel filter base so someone was messing with it before.

A inexpensive, permanent fix of leaky fuel filter base is to remove pressure sensor switch and plug hole with flat screw and JB weld. The fuel pressure sensor is set up to be used with STE-ICE test unit, which is hardly ever used.

Very good I did not know that. I have seen them plugged and left them that way with out issues. But I never knew what they were for other then to leak occasionally. And when they did I replaced them for $25 - $30. US.

It's a military issued/used item used to diagnose/retreive data. Kinda like a mechanical OBDII.

The trucks sensors all go to the big round plug under the ashtray.

I removed the pressure switch, JB welded a screw in the hole, and so far so good. It's been running pretty well for about a month, so I hope that that has solved the problem. Thanks very much for all of the help!
