What did you do to your deuce this week?

Started the R&R on my new-to-me heater for the truck. After battling some very light rust I got the heater box disassembled, next step is to sand and paint. The core looks good and seems to hold pressure, although I had to blow a BUNCH of fine shredded material out of it, looked like some wee critter was trying to make a home in there.

Maybe, during your off-season, you should just charge the little guy rent:

- You could ask top dollar what with the built-in exercise wheel.

I received the 5th gear kit today. I will be removing the trans over the weekend. Thank you Tom for the fast shipping. Can't wait to get it installed. :clinto:

Nice! I ended up having to buy a new 2nd gear with the holes already drilled in it from Memphis equipment. Couldn't find a machine shop that could drill or mill through mine, it's super hard even with carbide bits.

That's probably not a bad idea. If I see any ware on 2nd when I get it apart I'll go ahead and get a new gear but if it looks ok, I have access to a mill and will try to modify it my self. Worst case I have to buy one anyway.

We took ours on a weekend Camping/ATV trip in Wellsville Ohio.
It looks like you're on a ridge top there in the woods:

- Ridges? Mountains? in Ohio?

I'll admit ignorance, never visited that beautiful state other than through maps.

But are there actual mountains in Ohio?

OK dumb new guy question..
What kind of hoist is that? Is it aftermarket or made for the deuce from the military?
Its your standard Habor Freight bed crane but modified to be more useful by the PO. He added some bearings to it to help it pivot under load, as well as put a mount on the bumper for it to help with pulling heads.

Oh, and most importantly...he painted it OD :D

I have a similar crane that I'm hoping to eliminate the mounting foot and make a tube in the bed to receive it. I'd also like to put a mount on the front bumper for it so I can move things around with the truck and see what I'm doing.

Having the truck bed 4'+ off the ground will be a new experience for sure. Not sure whether I want to weld anything permanent in place though.

Wish I had a m109.....I took mine out of the driveway for the first time since I replaced the transmission, clutch, rear main, full interior re-do, and full paint job. Drove good, clutch releases at top of pedal. Think I might need to adjust it some
