You're a glutton for punishment Scott but looks like fun!

The old floor jack and half inch drill trick I see!

Oh boy, finally got the diagonal pintle hitch crossmember rivets cut out today. Wow, took me half the day. A torch sure would have made it easier. Placed the four foot frame extension up on some blocks and get it pretty much lined up where I want it. May put some temporary brackets and bolts in place until I rent the mag drill in a couple of weeks. I like how it's measuring out. The enclosed deck/porch/stairway idea is finally getting started. Not sure yet on what to use for the deck floor, was going to use aluminum expanded metal, but not sure. Rather not use plywood.

Maybe something that drains, like composite decking (no splinters, no rot); what's the stuff...Azek?

The permanent porch adds some nice storage for firewood or other stuff you don't want to put inside.
Although I would like to make a folding porch for my trailer.

I like the idea, but i would prefer a foldable porch.
At least four reasons for the fixed deck. Will be partially enclosed, roofed and screened. Can access the door without doing anything. Also will be for bulk item storage. Plus, when I'm pulling the 105, I can leave it hitched and use the deck and stairs without extra effort.

Buttoned up some of the deck framework that I started yesterday. Just used some small 3/8" bolts to set it up, will be using a mag drill in a couple of weeks to install more and larger bolts. I like how it came together.

What are you planning to mount back there?

I'll be installing my inverter generator, my solar hot water system, BBQ grille and chair storage. Underside will be the black water tank, spare tire, and tool boxes. Will have folding side entry stairs too.

Diamond plate aluminum on a tube steel frame
Good call, bonehead! Spoken like a steamfitter. :naner:

That's sounding better than the expanded metal (and also the reason I was thinking about the Azek decking):

- Because if you're camping in that thing, you know, you might be "barefootin'" sometimes, right?

No on the diamond plate. Would be outdoor carpet on whatever surface is used. So far I like AA's idea of the "poly wood" type of decking.
