Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
the engine runs and I can put it in gear the truck just wont move.Is it related to the engine not running or can you not put it in gear?
I have switched the pan gasket before but the leak came back.... maybe its not the panHave you dropped the pan to see what's going on?
a friend told me to use sea foam trans tune do you guys think that will help?Have you dropped the pan to see what's going on?
You didn't answer the question - what did the bottom of the pan look like? What was the condition of the fluid?I have switched the pan gasket before but the leak came back.... maybe its not the pan
sorry, I didn't open it my mechanic did but I did put a bucket underneath to catch the fluid and it is as red as it was when we put it in. also should I reuse that fluid? You didn't answer the question - what did the bottom of the pan look like? What was the condition of the fluid?
Shotgunning questions without details likely won't get you the best of answers.....
hi, if I check when it isn't running it shows a very light red way past full.... when it is running it is a little bit past full except I just took out a bucket of tranny fluid that was accumulating for the 2 months that I was on vacation for I will check the size of the bucket and send another reply. When I first put trans fluid in mine, it would move if the fluid was too low. Check the level properly and see where it is.
just checked.. I lost over a gallon and I didn't put any inWhen I first put trans fluid in mine, it would move if the fluid was too low. Check the level properly and see where it is.
there is your problem. Just running the engine isnt all you need to do to check the level.
I suggest you invest in a technical manual for your HMMWV.
As to checking for a leak I would say look directly above the red puddle on the floor and follow the red fluid back to were it is coming from.
You then will have found your leak.
If that doesn't work sell the HMMWV and buy something British as they seem to run without fluids in them better then U.S. made stuff.
Well, if you're losing a gallon or more of trans fluid, I think you're highest priority is getting the leak addressed before you even worry about moving it.funny; I know that it is from the pan maybe something above it but I have replaced the pan gasket already so its probably one of the nuts.
yes it is but as I was looking for that leak I figured out why it wasn't moving so I fixed that and now I'm waiting on parts...Well, if you're losing a gallon or more of trans fluid, I think you're highest priority is getting the leak addressed before you even worry about moving it.
