I really wasn't trying to be funny.
There is no magic bullet to finding a leak other then following the trail back to it's source. You said you changed the gasket.
Did you change the filter while you had the chance? If you had the pan down then you also drained all the fluids out of the lines and possibly the cooler. If you look in the service manual it will tell you how much the system holds once drained.
Do you know what the Vampire problem is on a HMMWV?
Do a search for it here on SS.
Have you checked the fluid in your transfer case?
You may find that it is way over filled. If so you may have the Vampire problem.
Have you pulled out your air filter?
If it has trans fluid on it or in the air filter housing you have the vampire problem.
The search feature here on SS is chalked full of very useful information.
Also you will find a nice selection of technical manuals that have been down loaded for the HMMWV in the technical manual section.

Also if you changed the gasket did you under or over tighten the bolts that hold the pan on.

Ummmm...if you losing trans fluid and keep adding it and it's still low...assuming there is none on the ground, you have a broken cooler loop in your tcase....get a 5 gal bucket and get under the tcase, remove the "fill" plug...if you get that gallon back, you know where your problem is, no fluid should come from the fill plug.

oh...a dumb question, but you don't have the tcase in neutral do you?

Let me add....if your tcase is filling up and your tcase vent or other vent is disconnected....your going to get your excess fluid in the tcase exiting through vent due to an over full tcase...if your vents are all good and connected, you will get ATF from the tcase in the geared hubs, diffs and eventually out of the air filter housing...that is where all the vents terminate.

it keeps coming out of the pan ( figured it out)

I believe it is in high not nuetral

I found out that it is leaking from the pan so would the tcase still be an issue?

Its recommended to check all of the fluid levels.
Did you just recently purchase the HMMWV?
Like RWH said have a big bucket handy and loosen the upper plug on the T case.
If a lot of fluid comes out you probably have a broken cooler loop also referred to as the Vampire problem.

ok, this may sound like a dumb question to you so I apologize in advance..... so there should be no fluid in the tcase ?

Open the "fill" plug... Not the "drain" plug on the xfer case. It shouldn't have fluid above the "fill" hole...

No it should be full up to the bottom of the inspection plug . If you look at the T case you will see two rather large plugs. The bottom one is removed to drain it , the upper is used to fill it as well as check the fluid level.
The 218 and 242 I believe take different amounts of fluid. but normally you should be able to remove the upper plug and feel the fluid level with your finger tip or see it about level with the bottom of the upper plug when removed.
